I create art to immerse myself in the world.
My subjects are highly personal.
Relationships, emotions and life experiences inspire my work.
Informed by personal experience, my work is influenced by my position and responsibilities in society as a woman, mother and community member. Themes that I explore include relationships, family, birth, home, gender roles, femininity, motherhood and healing.
Through my work I can investigate the commonality of the human experience. I enjoy the challenge of taking complex emotions and ideas and translating them into basic visual forms. The physical and mental over-stimulation of contemporary life drives me to create work that is quiet, intimate and that reveals love, compassion, empathy and truth.
My body of work includes, drawing, sculpture, photography, painting, mixed media, illustration, ceramics, prints and site specific installation.
